to Vote

If you're unhoused

40% of youth experiencing homelessness are LGBTQIA+, but you can still vote without a fixed address.

If you're formerly incarcerated

LGBTQIA+ people are three times as likely to be incarcerated as the general population. Depending on your state's rules, you may still be eligible to vote.

If you're struggling

Taking time off to vote, or getting to a polling place can be hard when things are tight. 1 in 5 LGBTQIA+ people are living in poverty. There may be options to vote in your state that meet your needs.

Worried about Voter ID?

Voter ID requirements are in 36 states. ID requirements create barriers to voting for many people groups, including at least 1 in 4 transgender eligible voters.

Concerned about voting in person?

You may prefer to vote by mail if your name and gender don't match your ID.

Name Mismatch?

All 50 states and Washington, D.C. require your voter registration to match your legal name. We partner with VoteRiders to help you update your identification to match your identity.

Once that step is complete, you can register or re-register to vote under your legal name.
